Terms Of Service
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of silverfoxlaneflowers.com (the "Site") and your purchase of products and services from Silver Fox Lane Flowers ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Site, placing an order, or booking a service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or place an order.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on the Site on the date you place an order applies to that order.
2. Who we are and what we sell
Silver Fox Lane Flowers is a small scale flower farm in Toddville, Iowa. Because the farm is at our home, it is not open to the public, and visits are by appointment only.
We offer:
- Fresh-cut flowers and bouquets, available seasonally for pickup or delivery.
- Flower subscriptions and shares
- Dahlia tubers, seeds and plant starts.
- The Bloom Box, DIY design buckets and e-gift cards.
-
Weddings and events floral services (a la carte, not full service)
Product descriptions, photos and prices on the Site are as accurate as we can make them. Our flowers are grown outdoors and vary by season, so photos show examples, not a guarantee of what you will receive.
3. Orders, pricing and payment
- Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change at any time. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. We may correct pricing errors and will contact you before processing an order affected by one.
- Payment is due at the time of purchase unless we agree otherwise in writing. We accept [list: major credit cards, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, etc.] through our payment processor. We do not store your full card number.
- Sales tax: Iowa sales tax is added where required.
- Order acceptance. An order confirmation email is not our acceptance. We may decline or cancel an order for reasons such as limited availability, pricing errors, suspected fraud, or delivery outside our service area, and we will refund any payment for an order we cancel.
-
Limited quantities. Subscriptions, shares, tubers and event dates are limited. We are not obliged to hold a spot without payment.
4. Seasonal products and natural variation
We grow what we sell, and we work alongside Mother Nature.
- All floral selections are designer's choice in a seasonal color palette, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We choose varieties and colors based on what is at its peak.
- Start dates are estimates. Subscriptions begin when the summer fields start to bloom, [early July, give or take a week]. We will notify you when your first delivery is ready.
- Weather and crop failures. Weather, pests, disease or other events outside our control can reduce or change what we grow. If we cannot provide a product, we will provide a comparable substitute where we can, or [choose: a credit toward a future purchase / a partial refund / a full refund of the unfulfilled portion].
- Variety and substitutions. For plant shares, tubers and seeds, varieties may vary, and we reserve the right to change them without notice. Photos and variety lists are examples, not guarantees.
- Natural products. Cut flowers and plants are living things. Vase life depends on handling, temperature and variety, and we cannot guarantee how long a bloom will last.

5.3 Delivery area and delivery.
- Delivery is limited to a 20-mile radius of the farm. Please contact us before purchasing if you are unsure whether your address qualifies.
- Once you have ordered, we will arrange a delivery location with you. Please give an accurate address and any delivery notes (such as a safe, shaded spot).
- Deliveries are made on Thursdays, times may vary.
- Please bring your flowers inside as soon as they arrive. We are not responsible for flowers left outside after delivery, including damage from heat, cold, sun, animals or theft.
- Missed deliveries. If you cannot accept a delivery that week, please notify us by Monday of that week.
- Because we are a small farm, if we must change a delivery day because of weather or harvest, we will let you know as early as we can.
5.4 Pickup (Spring Plant Share and any pickup orders).
- Pickup is at our farm. We will confirm details by email.
- If you cannot attend, someone else may pick up for you. Please tell us their name in advance.
- Plants not picked up are forfeited, and no refund will be issued if you cannot pick up.
5.5 Refunds and cancellations.
- All subscription and share purchases are final and non-refundable, because we plant, grow and reserve spots for our members in advance.
- If we cancel or cannot deliver your share (for example, because of a crop failure), section 4 applies.
- Transfers. You may transfer your share to another person at no charge by notifying us before your first delivery.
5.6 Your responsibilities. Please give us an accurate address, email and phone number, and tell us about changes. Please read the fine print on each product page before you buy.
6. Gift cards and gifted shares
- E-gift cards can be redeemed for products and services on the Site and have no cash value. Gift cards are valid for 1 year.
- Gifted shares. If you buy a share as a gift, the recipient must be within our delivery area for delivery shares. Please provide the recipient's name and email so we can contact them.
- We are not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards, or for gift cards sent to an incorrect email address.
7. Bouquets, buckets and other fresh-flower orders
- Pickup and delivery. Pickup is at the farm. Delivery fees are shown at checkout.
- Substitutions. We may substitute flowers of equal or greater value for color, size or availability.
- Care. Care instructions are included with orders. Please follow them. We cannot replace or refund flowers damaged by heat, cold, neglect or incorrect handling after delivery or pickup.
- Claims. If there is a problem with the quality of fresh flowers, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery or pickup, with photos. We will choose: replace the item / issue a credit / issue a partial refund if we agree the problem is on our side.
- Cancellations. Orders for fresh flowers can be changed or cancelled up to 72 hours before pickup or delivery. After that, we cannot refund the order because the flowers have already been harvested and arranged.
8. Dahlia tubers, seeds and plant starts
- Availability. Tubers are sold in limited quantity, usually through an annual sale. The sale date, price and varieties are announced on the Site and by email.
- Shipping and pickup. Please see product page for shipping method and cost, ship dates or pickup.
- Plants are living things. We pack plants carefully, but we cannot control growing conditions after you receive them. Results depend on your soil, light, weather, planting date and care, and we do not guarantee that every tuber, seed or start will grow, flower, or look like our photos.
- Claims. If tubers, seeds or plants arrive damaged or incorrect, contact us within 24 hours of delivery, with photos, and we will refund the affected item. We cannot offer refunds due to failure to grow once due to growing conditions that are beyond our responsibility.
9. Weddings and events
Weddings and events are governed by these Terms and by a separate written agreement or proposal that we will provide before booking. If there is a conflict, the written agreement controls.
- We are not a full-service florist. Unless the agreement says otherwise, we provide the flowers and arrangements agreed, and you are responsible for setup, breakdown, transportation of items from pickup (unless you pay a delivery fee), rentals, and any venue requirements.
- Booking and limited dates. We book weddings and events for August, September and early October. A date is held only when we receive a signed agreement and a non-refundable retainer of 30%.
- Pricing. Wedding and event services start at $500. We quote after a consultation.
- Payment schedule. 30% due at booking, the balance due 30 days before the event.
- Grow list and flower selection. You choose colors, tones and textures. We cannot guarantee specific varieties. We choose varieties at their peak for your date.
- Backup growers. If our own crop falls short, we have arrangements with partner growers across Iowa and Minnesota so that your event has flowers. If we use partner flowers, we will work to match your color palette.
- Changes and cancellations. The retainer is non-refundable.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, illness, venue closure, power or transportation failure, or government orders. In that case we will work with you in good faith on a substitute, a reschedule or a full refund of amounts for services not yet provided.
10. Farm visits and safety
Our farm is our home and a working farm. Visitors may come by appointment only. Visitors enter at their own risk, must follow our directions, and must keep children supervised. Our property includes timber, fields, uneven ground, tools, insects and animals. We are not responsible for injury or loss on the property, except to the extent caused by our negligence, and we may ask you to leave at any time.
11. Shipping, delivery and risk of loss
Risk of loss for delivered items passes to you when the item is delivered to the address or location you gave us, or when you or your representative picks it up. If delivery cannot be completed because of an incorrect address or because no one is available, we may charge a re-delivery fee or treat the item as delivered. We are not responsible for delays outside our control.
12. Allergies and health
Flowers, pollen and plants may cause allergic reactions. Some flowers, plants and seeds are not edible and may be toxic to people and pets. Do not eat any plant or flower unless you have verified that it is safe.
