We are a small scale flower farm. We collect only the information we need to take your order, deliver your flowers, answer your questions, and tell you about the farm if you ask us to. We do not sell your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have.

This policy applies to the Site, to our emails, to the orders and services you place with us, and to our own social media accounts. It does not apply to other websites or services we link to.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you give us

If you give us someone else's information (for example, a gift recipient), you confirm that you have the right to do so and that the person would not object.

3.2 Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment processors, such as Shopify Payments and [PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, etc.]. We do not receive or store your full card number. We may see the last four digits, card type and billing address so we can confirm your order and handle refunds.

3.3 Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our platform and the tools we use may collect IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, links clicked, referring site, time and date, and approximate location. This is done with cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).

3.4 Information from other sources. We may receive information from our platform (for example, order and fraud-prevention data), from payment and shipping providers, and from social media platforms if you message us, tag us or comment on our posts.

3.5 Sensitive information. We do not ask for sensitive information (such as government ID numbers, health information, or financial account numbers). Please do not send it to us. If you tell us about an allergy to help us choose flowers, we use it only for that purpose.

4. How we use your information

To fulfill orders: process payments, prepare and deliver your flowers, send order and delivery notices (including our Monday reminder for deliveries), and handle returns, claims and refunds.
To communicate with you: answer questions, set up farm tours and events, and send service messages (for example, a change to a delivery day).
To market to you, if you have agreed: send emails about the farm, subscriptions opening, the tuber sale, and new products. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To run and improve the Site and our business: understand what is popular, fix problems, plan what to grow, and keep the Site secure.
To prevent fraud and meet legal duties: protect our customers and business, keep tax and accounting records, and follow the law.
To use your words and photos, if you permit us: share a testimonial or photo with your permission, and credit you the way you ask.

We have accounts on[Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest. If you follow us, message us, tag us or comment, the platform's rules govern what it collects. We may see your username and what you post publicly, and we may reshare your public posts with credit. We will ask before using a private message, photo or testimonial in our marketing. The Site may include social buttons or embedded feeds that let those platforms collect information when you visit. Read each platform's privacy policy for how it handles data.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our service providers use them to:

Make the Site work: remember your cart, keep you signed in, and complete checkout.
Measure use: count visits and see which pages and posts are useful.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features, such as your cart, may not work. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can use Google's browser add-on.

8. Email and text messages

Email. We send marketing emails only to people who have signed up or are existing customers, as the law allows. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. We will still send service messages about an order or delivery. If you join the dahlia tuber list or the subscription waitlist, you will hear from us about those sales.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it. In general:

No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password for your account. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

11. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

Tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
Correct information that is inaccurate.
Delete your information, except what we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
Give you a copy of information you gave us.
Stop marketing: use the unsubscribe link, or email us.
Delete your account.

To make a request, email hello@silverfoxlaneflowers.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within 45 days or sooner. We will not treat you unfairly for exercising your rights. If we cannot do what you ask, we will tell you why.

State privacy laws. Some states, including [California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and Iowa], give residents specific rights and apply only to businesses over certain size or data thresholds. Many small farms are below those thresholds. Whether or not a law requires it, we will try to honor reasonable requests from anyone.

12. Children

The Site is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before placing an order.

13. Links to other sites

The Site may link to other websites and services (for example, social media, payment pages and our partners). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies before giving them any information.

14. Where your information is processed

We are in the United States, and our service providers may process your information in the United States and elsewhere. If you visit from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on the Site and change the "Last updated" date. If we make a material change, we will tell you in a way that fits, such as by email. Using the Site after an update means you accept the changes.
